Description

Worms or worm segments in stool refer to the visible presence of intestinal parasites or their body parts (proglottids) during stool examination. This finding is commonly associated with helminth infections such as tapeworms, roundworms, or pinworms. Detection of worms or segments is clinically significant and indicates active parasitic infection requiring anti-helminthic treatment. This parameter is evaluated during Routine Stool Examination (R/E).
