Description

VDRL (Venereal Disease Research Laboratory) / RPR (Rapid Plasma Reagin) Test is a non-treponemal blood test used to screen for syphilis. It detects non-specific antibodies produced in response to infection with Treponema pallidum. The test is commonly used for initial screening, prenatal testing, and monitoring treatment response. Reactive results require confirmation with specific treponemal tests such as TPHA or FTA-ABS.
