Thyroglobulin (Serum) (IA0147)

Description

Thyroglobulin (Serum) is a blood test used to measure the level of thyroglobulin, a protein produced by thyroid follicular cells. It is primarily used as a tumor marker in the follow-up and monitoring of differentiated thyroid cancer (papillary and follicular types) after thyroidectomy or radioactive iodine therapy. Rising thyroglobulin levels may indicate residual, recurrent, or metastatic thyroid cancer. The test is often interpreted alongside Anti-Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb).
