Sputum Culture & Sensitivity (C/S) is a microbiological test used to detect and identify bacterial pathogens present in sputum from the lower respiratory tract. It helps diagnose respiratory infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, lung abscess, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations. The test also determines antibiotic susceptibility to guide targeted antimicrobial therapy.
