Rubella IgG Avidity (IO0102)

Description

Rubella IgG Avidity is a blood test used to determine the maturity of IgG antibodies against the Rubella virus. It helps differentiate between a recent (primary) infection and a past infection or immunity. This test is especially important in pregnancy to assess the timing of infection and evaluate the risk of congenital rubella syndrome (CRS). High-avidity IgG suggests past infection or immunity, while low-avidity IgG indicates recent infection.
