Reaction (pH) (CP0075)

Description

Reaction (pH) in stool refers to the measurement of acidity or alkalinity of fecal matter. It is evaluated during routine stool examination and helps assess digestive function, carbohydrate malabsorption, bacterial fermentation, and intestinal infections. Normal stool pH is slightly acidic to neutral. Abnormal pH levels may indicate malabsorption syndromes, lactose intolerance, bacterial overgrowth, or intestinal inflammation.
