RDW-CV (Red Cell Distribution Width – Coefficient of Variation) measures the variation in size (anisocytosis) of red blood cells in peripheral blood. It is reported as a percentage and is part of the Complete Blood Count (CBC). RDW-CV is useful in differentiating types of anemia, particularly iron deficiency anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency, and thalassemia. It is interpreted along with RBC count, MCV, MCH, and hemoglobin levels.
