Abnormal RBCs in urine refer to an increased number or morphologically altered red blood cells detected during urine microscopy. The presence of abnormal RBCs indicates hematuria and may suggest underlying urinary tract infection, kidney disease, glomerular disorders, stones, trauma, or malignancy. Morphological evaluation (dysmorphic vs isomorphic RBCs) helps determine whether bleeding originates from the kidneys (glomerular) or lower urinary tract.
