Description

QuantiFERON-TB Gold (IGRA) is an interferon-gamma release assay (IGRA) used to detect latent or active infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This blood test measures the immune response to TB-specific antigens and is not affected by prior BCG vaccination. It is commonly used for tuberculosis screening in healthcare workers, immunocompromised individuals, and pre-employment or pre-immigration medical evaluations.
