Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) – Total is a blood test used to measure the total amount of PSA, a protein produced by prostate gland cells. This test is widely used for prostate cancer screening, monitoring treatment response, and detecting recurrence after therapy. Elevated PSA levels may also be seen in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostatitis, or after certain urological procedures. Total PSA is often interpreted alongside Free PSA to improve diagnostic accuracy.
