Plateletcrit (PCT) is a hematological parameter that measures the total platelet mass in the blood as a percentage of blood volume. It is analogous to hematocrit for red blood cells and reflects the combined effect of platelet count and mean platelet volume (MPV). Plateletcrit is useful in evaluating platelet-related disorders such as thrombocytopenia, thrombocytosis, inflammatory conditions, and bone marrow abnormalities. It is routinely reported as part of an advanced Complete Blood Count (CBC).
