PIVKA-II (MB0083)

Description

PIVKA-II, also known as Des-Gamma Carboxy Prothrombin (DCP), is a blood test used as a tumor marker for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It measures an abnormal form of prothrombin produced by malignant liver cells due to impaired vitamin K–dependent carboxylation. PIVKA-II is useful for early detection of HCC, risk stratification, monitoring treatment response, and detecting tumor recurrence, especially when used alongside alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and imaging studies.
