Phosphate Crystals are microscopic crystalline structures observed in urine sediment, commonly found in alkaline urine. They typically appear as amorphous phosphates or triple phosphate (struvite) crystals. Small amounts may be normal; however, increased phosphate crystals may indicate urinary tract infections (especially with urease-producing bacteria), alkaline urine, or risk of kidney stone formation. This parameter is assessed during Routine Urine Examination (R/E).
