Parasites - Stools (AP0007)

Description

Parasites – Stool Examination is a microscopic test used to detect intestinal parasites in stool samples. This examination helps identify protozoa and helminths such as Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, Ascaris lumbricoides, hookworms, and Taenia species. The presence of parasites may cause symptoms like diarrhea, abdominal pain, weight loss, anemia, and gastrointestinal disturbances. This parameter is usually evaluated as part of a Stool Routine Examination or Ova and Parasite (O&P) test.
