Description

MTB / TB PCR (Real Time) is a molecular diagnostic test used to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) DNA in clinical specimens. Using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technology, this test provides rapid and highly sensitive detection of tuberculosis infection. It is useful in diagnosing pulmonary and extrapulmonary TB and is especially valuable in smear-negative or early-stage cases. Results are available much faster than conventional culture methods.

Avoid saliva contamination
Do not use formalin-fixed tissue for PCR
