Medium Fluorescence Reticulocytes (MFR) represent reticulocytes with intermediate RNA content identified through automated fluorescence-based hematology analyzers. MFR reflects actively maturing red blood cells and provides insight into bone marrow erythropoietic activity. It is part of advanced reticulocyte analysis and is useful in evaluating anemia, monitoring response to iron or vitamin therapy, and assessing bone marrow recovery after chemotherapy or blood loss.
