Lipase (BC0103)

Description

Lipase is a blood test used to measure the level of lipase, an enzyme produced mainly by the pancreas that helps in the digestion of fats. This test is primarily used in the diagnosis and monitoring of acute and chronic pancreatitis and other pancreatic disorders. Elevated lipase levels are more specific for pancreatic injury than amylase and are helpful in assessing disease severity and response to treatment when interpreted with clinical findings and imaging studies.
