Larvae (CP0080)

Description

Larvae in stool refer to the detection of immature worm stages during microscopic examination of fecal samples. The presence of larvae commonly indicates parasitic infections such as Strongyloides stercoralis or hookworm species. Identification of larvae is clinically significant and suggests active intestinal helminth infection. Stool examination for larvae is an important component of Routine Stool Examination (R/E) and Ova & Parasite (O&P) testing.
