IHC – CD10 is an immunohistochemistry (IHC) tissue marker test used in histopathology to detect CD10 antigen expression in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. CD10 is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed in bone marrow B-cell precursors, follicle center B cells, some myeloid cells, and selected non-hematopoietic tissues, and it is widely used in the diagnosis, classification, and immunophenotyping of leukemias and lymphomas. CD10 is especially useful in the evaluation of B-precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL), Burkitt lymphoma, follicular lymphoma, and a subset of diffuse large B-cell lymphomas, where it helps identify germinal center / follicle center B-cell origin. It is commonly used as part of an IHC lymphoma panel with markers such as CD20, PAX5, CD3, BCL6, MUM1, CD5, CD23, Ki-67, and BCL2. Mayo Clinic Laboratories notes that CD10 is most useful for phenotyping leukemias and lymphomas, and the test is performed by Immunohistochemistry (IHC) on paraffin-embedded tissue, with a typical report availability of 1–3 days.
