High Fluorescence Reticulocytes (HFR) represent the youngest and most immature reticulocytes circulating in peripheral blood. Identified through fluorescence flow cytometry, HFR contains the highest RNA content among reticulocyte populations. Elevated HFR indicates strong bone marrow stimulation and early erythropoietic response, making it useful in monitoring anemia recovery, hemolytic conditions, bone marrow regeneration, and response to therapy such as iron, vitamin B12, or erythropoietin treatment.
