Hepatitis B Core IgM Antibody (Anti-HBc IgM) (IO0126)

Description

Hepatitis B Core IgM Antibody (Anti-HBc IgM) is a blood test used to detect IgM antibodies against the Hepatitis B core antigen (HBcAg). It is a key marker of acute or recent Hepatitis B infection and may also be detected during reactivation of chronic Hepatitis B. Anti-HBc IgM is particularly important in identifying the “window period,” when HBsAg has disappeared and Anti-HBs has not yet formed. The test is commonly interpreted alongside HBsAg, Anti-HBc Total, and Anti-HBs.
