HbA1c (NGSP) is a blood test used to measure glycated hemoglobin, which reflects the average blood glucose level over the past 2–3 months. It is widely used for the diagnosis and monitoring of diabetes mellitus. The NGSP (National Glycohemoglobin Standardization Program) standard ensures that HbA1c results are consistent and comparable with those used in major diabetes studies such as the DCCT. Higher HbA1c levels indicate poor long-term glucose control.
