Absolute Eosinophils Count ( HM0099 )

Description

Absolute Eosinophil Count (AEC) is a hematological parameter that measures the exact number of eosinophils present in peripheral blood. Eosinophils are a type of white blood cell (leukocyte) produced in the bone marrow and play a crucial role in the body’s immune response, particularly in allergic reactions, parasitic infections, and inflammatory processes. These cells contain granules rich in enzymes and proteins that are released during immune activation, especially in hypersensitivity reactions and defense against parasitic organisms.

This test is valuable for monitoring allergic patients, assessing response to anti-allergic or anti-parasitic treatment, and evaluating unexplained inflammatory symptoms. Since eosinophils fluctuate in response to immune activity, AEC serves as an important marker in diagnosing and managing conditions related to immune hypersensitivity and parasitic defense mechanisms.
