Description

Cystine Crystals are colorless, hexagonal crystals observed during urine sediment microscopy and are strongly associated with cystinuria, a rare inherited disorder of amino acid transport. Their presence is clinically significant and may indicate increased risk of recurrent cystine kidney stones. Cystine crystals are typically found in acidic urine and are considered abnormal findings that require further metabolic evaluation.
