Cyst – Stool Examination is a microscopic test used to detect parasitic cysts in stool samples. Cysts are the dormant or infective forms of intestinal protozoa such as Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, and other intestinal parasites. Detection of cysts helps diagnose parasitic infections that may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, malabsorption, and gastrointestinal disturbances. This parameter is typically evaluated as part of a Stool Routine Examination.
