CORTISOL, 24 HR URINE (IM039)

Description

The Cortisol, 24-Hour Urine test measures the total amount of free cortisol excreted in urine over a 24-hour period. Cortisol is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands that helps regulate metabolism, blood pressure, immune function, and the body's response to stress. Measuring 24-hour urinary free cortisol (UFC) is one of the recommended first-line tests for evaluating Cushing syndrome (hypercortisolism) and assessing adrenal gland function.
