Description

The Clostridium difficile GDH + Toxin A & B test detects Glutamate Dehydrogenase (GDH) antigen and Toxins A and B produced by Clostridioides difficile (formerly Clostridium difficile) in a stool sample. GDH serves as a sensitive screening marker for the presence of the organism, while toxin detection helps identify toxin-producing strains responsible for Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI). This test is commonly used in patients with persistent or unexplained diarrhea, particularly after recent antibiotic use or hospitalization.
