Chloride – Serum is a blood test used to measure the level of chloride, an essential electrolyte that helps maintain fluid balance, acid–base balance, and proper nerve and muscle function in the body. This test is commonly used to evaluate dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, kidney disorders, metabolic acidosis or alkalosis, and conditions affecting acid–base status. Serum chloride testing is often performed as part of an electrolyte panel or routine health assessment.
