Description

The Calcium, 24-Hour Urine test measures the total amount of calcium excreted in urine over a 24-hour period. It helps assess calcium metabolism and is commonly used to investigate kidney stones (nephrolithiasis), hypercalciuria, parathyroid disorders, osteoporosis, vitamin D abnormalities, and certain kidney diseases. Measuring calcium in a complete 24-hour urine sample provides a more accurate assessment than a random urine specimen.
