Description

The C-ANCA (Anti-PR3) test detects antibodies against Proteinase 3 (PR3), an enzyme found in neutrophils. These antibodies are strongly associated with ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV), particularly Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA) (formerly known as Wegener's granulomatosis). The test is used to aid in diagnosis, assess disease activity, and monitor response to treatment in patients with suspected autoimmune small-vessel vasculitis.
