Description

The Bilirubin, Total – Fluid Test measures the concentration of bilirubin in body fluids such as pleural, ascitic, peritoneal, or surgical drain fluid. This test helps identify the presence of bile leakage into body cavities and supports the diagnosis of conditions such as bilothorax, biliary fistula, bile duct injury, and bilious ascites. It is commonly ordered after abdominal surgery, trauma, or when bile leakage is suspected.
