The Beta-2 Microglobulin (B2M) Serum test measures the level of beta-2 microglobulin, a protein found on the surface of most cells and released into the blood. It is used to assess kidney function, immune system activity, and to monitor certain blood cancers such as multiple myeloma and lymphoma.
