Description

24-Hour Urinary Phosphorus is a urine test used to measure the total amount of phosphorus excreted over a full 24-hour period. It helps evaluate phosphorus balance, renal handling of phosphate, and disorders related to bone and mineral metabolism. This test is useful in assessing kidney disease, hyperparathyroidism, hypoparathyroidism, vitamin D disorders, and unexplained abnormalities in serum phosphorus levels. Results are interpreted alongside serum phosphorus, calcium, and parathyroid hormone (PTH).
