Description

24-Hour Urinary Magnesium is a urine test used to measure the total amount of magnesium excreted over a full 24-hour period. It helps evaluate magnesium balance, differentiate renal from gastrointestinal causes of magnesium deficiency, and assess kidney handling of magnesium. This test is useful in patients with hypomagnesemia, chronic diarrhea, malabsorption, renal tubular disorders, and in monitoring magnesium supplementation or losses.
